Driver Out Today In iTunes Store

And the classic hits just keep on coming! It seems like not a day goes by without yet another fondly remembered game making its way onto the iPhone. Today it’s the turn of Driver, a driving game (you probably guessed that!) where you get to play as Tanner, the undercover cop/ getaway driver tearing it up around the streets of four locations: Miami, LA, New York and San Francisco. Set in the 1970s, the original game was released in 1999 and spawned several sequels, as well as revolutionizing the whole concept of driving games, and it looks like Gameloft has done an excellent job of restoring it to its former glory for the iPhone. The graphics have generally been buffed up, and you now have an in-car radio with three different radio stations blaring out ‘70s music. The story mode boasts 40 missions, and there are also Training and Free Play modes and Driving games. All the amazing stunts and tricks from the PlayStation original are back and better than ever, and the city environments look incredible, complete with working traffic lights (not that you’ll be paying much attention to them!) jaywalking pedestrians and much more. Although controls can sometimes be a problem when bringing these older games to the iPhone, Driver has lots of different control options to enable you to find the one that suits your gameplay style best. Check out the trailer, it looks awesome
